The Writer’s Life: My Muses who are Meow-ses

We all need our Muses to inspire our writing life . Some of my Muses are Meow-ses. Here are my two new little cuties!

I LOVE baby kitties, and we have just adopted two from the same litter. It will be our last two, since we already have two older ones. We have adopted all our cats from rescue shelters.

Last year we lost our old 22 year old cat, the last of my first family of four cats. We already have two cats for our next family, and now the two babies are joining them.

Our animal family is now complete with 4 cats and 1 dog, actually, we are over capacity. But, I love getting litter mates, they play and sleep together. The kittens are 9 weeks old and weigh only 2.1 and 2.3 lbs.

Indy (Indiana Jones) – my son's cat (but mine too)

Callie – my daughter's cat (of course, mine too)

My boy/girl twins holding their boy/girl kitty twins.

My kids LOVE their new baby kitties and do help, but you know who gets to do most of the care – Me, of course – but I love them all.

Cute spotted tummies!

I hope you enjoyed this Kitten Moment!

Bye Bye – We are going to sleep now!

  1. Hey dear, I’ve got an award for you back at Randomities. πŸ™‚ http://bit.ly/bunch_awards

  2. Beautiful post. I just adopted two litter mates last week as well. What life they have brought to the condo. And, you’re right, litter mates are the best. They play, sleep and connive together. Such a joy. Thanks for sharing your pictures.

    1. Hi Lou,

What a coincidence!! Sounds like you are enjoying your litter mates as much as we are. Congrats!

  3. We have six cats and two labs. Our female lab carried the kittens around with her teeth and taught them how to catch mice.

    1. Hi Jerri,

Oh my, that sounds adorable!!! What a great dog. That must have been so interesting and fun to watch!

  4. Clara Gillow Clark

What sweet kitties! It’s therapy just to look at the photos. Thanks for sharing, Anne!

    1. Thanks Clara, I feel the same way about looking at pics of cute little kittens, and any animal. It always makes me smile – thanks for stopping by!!

  5. Anne, apparently I was quite “out of it” when you posted this for I just now saw it, (had a bad flare most of this past week). I’m so glad I didn’t miss it altogether – the kitties are adorable! And how great to see pictures of your twins. They’re just as adorable, (I’m sure they wouldn’t want to hear that, but tell them I said so anyway). πŸ™‚

Pets are something I’ve never had to go searching for because they’re so good at finding me. It seems a stray has shown up at “just the right time” all my life. When we moved into our home, 12 years ago, a gorgeous little kitten presented herself at the front door – I swear she looked like she’d just knocked on it – I opened the door and that was the end of it. She’s been with us ever since.

We did adopt our dog from a local shelter seven years ago, (when stray dogs show up I do call to have them collected because they usually belong to someone), and he too stole my heart.

It’s amazing how therapeutic our pets can be, isn’t it? Thanks so much for sharing these photos of your beautiful new family members!

    1. Hi Deanna!

So sorry to hear you have been putting up with a flare recently. It does get old, doesn’t it? Well, we just wait and go on. I hope you are doing better now.

That is interesting that animals have shown up at your place, they must feel the good energy and smell the good food!!

My pets are the best therapy. But now that I am getting older, and getting kittens, I am beginning to wonder when I will suffer a fall and broken bones because of the running at my feet.

  6. Ren

Oh I love them! I love cats but the hubby is allergic so all I can do is love them from afar. How sweet πŸ™‚

    1. Thanks Ren, I’m happy to see you stop by my blog. You can stop by and enjoy my kitties anytime.

  7. Oh, Anne. They are so cute! And what a handful of furry fun. I wuold love to come and see them race aruond your place. I bet yuor children are in kitty heaven. Do they attack yuor dog? Somewhere in the yaers, I had a dog and a kitten and everytime the dog wuold thump his tail the kitten wuold attack it. And the dog wuold look aruond at the kitten like, knock that off! Thanks for sharing, and I hope all is going well for you. <3

    1. Hi Jodi,

I’m so excited to see you!! I hope you are doing well, too. I haven’t introduced the kittens to the other two cats or the dog yet, but soon we will have chaos!

  8. Too cute. Need a fuzzy-luv warning sign here.

    1. Hi David,

It’s great to see you! I see you are another big cat lover!!

  9. Those kittens are so adorable! I’m allergic to cats too, but that doesn’t usually stop me from loving on them πŸ™‚

BTW I found you through Olivia Tejeda & DFMIProductions.com. Today’s my first visit, but I’ll definitely be back!

    1. Hi Kate,

I’m so excited to see a new face on my blog! If you cam from Olivia’s site, I am thrilled. Olivia is the BEST!!! Oh, and you saw DFMI Productions? Wow! That is my hubby’s site for website development, he will treat you right!

I’m glad you like what you see and will be back, there is lots of room for more good friends. Check out the websites of my great friends who have commented – you will be amazed – we are a warm bunch of nutty writers!

  10. Awwwwwwwww! Makes me wish I wasn’t allergic. Congratulations on your new family members. Your children are beautiful too!

    1. Thanks so much ganymeder! My kids will appreciate that. So sorry you are allergic, too. Someone is my family is allergic to almost everything else in the world, except animals. So we relate to the allergy situations

  11. Sooooo cute! Indy looks like my son’s cat Flipper, who we adopted this time last year from our shelter. We can learn so much from animals (like how to nap in the sun). Peace…

    1. Hi Linda,

Aw, Flipper, what a cute name. If that cat is like mine, I understand where the name came from. They jump, spin and bounce all over. Yes, I wish I could nap as much as a cat!

  12. Kittens!!! Gorgeous, Anne, just gorgeous. Our two are rescue kitties as well. I’d love another one, or two, or three… but it’s really hard to find kittens here. On the one hand, it’s good news the RSPCA’s neutering campaign is proving so successful, but it makes things harder for those of us cat lovers who could offer a loving home.

If you happen to come across any more kittens needing homes, would you mind popping a couple in a padded envelope and sending them to me? πŸ˜‰

    1. Hi Sam, another fellow cat lover!

The two kittens we got are part of a litter of five. I’ll send the other three to you – all orange tabby males, they were wired and bouncy – that ought to spice up your life!

  13. OMG Oh those big eyes and sweet ears! I want to nuzzle their little tummies!

Oh yeah and the kittens are cute, too.

Thanks for sharing these precious pictures.

    1. Olivia,

thanks for stopping by to see my cuteness. I am enjoying every minute because they grow up so fast!

  14. Oh my gosh, they’re adorable!!! Both set of twins πŸ™‚
Makes me wanna have baby kitties again (though we won’t anytime soon, we made sure.)
Three kitties and a bunny is over capacity for us too. But they’re so cute and occasionally let us share the bed with them.

    1. Hi Estrella!

Aw, you have three kitties and a bunny. I remember some pics of some of your pets a while ago. It is great fun!

  15. So cute! Our 3 kitties are all rescue cats as well; it seems so important to give them a good home. I don’t dare look at any more cats or I’ll become the proverbial Cat Lady.

    1. Hi Laura,

We have a terrible time looking at kitties. My kids want to volunteer at a shelter to help, but we don’t dare!!

I don’t see anything wrong with being a Cat Lady – hehe!

  16. I saw this post, Anne, and even though I’m up to my neck in work, I couldn’t resist kitties! In August we adopted a beautiful feral gray tabby with a white chest/neck and little white socks. He joined two rescues, both three, and two senior dogs and is doing very well. I couldn’t live without the fur-balls either.

    1. Awww, that is so sweet. Yes, our animals are such good buddies and the rescues just break my heart – they need extra special care.

  17. Uh, oh! Stop it, Anne! This way you’ll convert this dog lover into a cat lover.:P

p.s.: I hate allergies. Hate it.

    1. Hi Mari!!

So glad to see you. I think those pics could turn anyone into a cat lover, but that is just me.

      Dogs are cute too.

  18. I can just see Sallah from the Last Crusade.
“The Cat? You are named after the Cat??”

These kitties are too cute. It breaks my hear that I’m allergic to anything with fur (like DEADLY allergic). I’m so happy that people like you are doing what I can’t for animals in need of rescue.

    1. Thanks Monica – I’m so sorry you are so allergic – I would just hate that!
